Fordham University is a private research university situated in the Bronx, New York City. It was created in 1841 as St. John’s College by the coadjutor-Bishop of New York, Right Reverend John Hughes. Fordham’s academic beliefs are attracted from its Jesuit impacts. The University produces the Jesuit principles.
Fordham University was the first Catholic institution of higher education in the northeastern U.S. The college formally changed its name to the present Fordham University in 1907. Students at Fordham can select from over 60 disciplines in sciences, business, and liberal arts, and every finishes a core curriculum that covers philosophy, literature, history, theology, science, and the arts.
Every year the university offers Spring Fling, which consists of big screen movie nights, live musical artists and a student against administration softball game. Fordham also offers Leadership Weekend, an event dedicated to training leadership and group abilities to student leaders. Fordham sponsors 23 men’s and women’s university sports teams, and the Rams are members of NCAA Division I and take part in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
