The State University of New York, Stony Brook is part of the four SUNY Centers. It was established in 1957. The Stony Brook University is a public, coeducational research university situated in Stony Brook, New York, USA.
Stony Brook has extra smaller campuses in Manhattan and Southampton.The university provides 67 majors and the most well-known study fields are psychology, biology, business management and health science. Stony Brook research has brought to the classification and cataloging of 328 faraway galaxies. The school is also dependable for over 1,700 inventions and more than 500 patents.
The yearly Roth Pond Regatta is a famous competition where students race across the pond in makeshift boats. Every spring, the university’s community collects at the Academic Mall to commemorate “Strawberry Fest,” a day that consists of music, dancing, and strawberry treats. Stony Brook University’s athletics teams compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the Division I level and the school talisman is the Seawolf.
